Child Care for Families, Friends & Neighbors
When you care for the children of family, friends or neighbors, you are more than a babysitter, you are providing critical support in helping children, families and the community thrive.
Learn More!Skills Training
Our Skills Training sessions provide informal caregivers, community leaders, and parents with the tools to support children’s development in safe and nurturing environments. Topics covered include child development milestones, positive discipline strategies, early learning activities, and fostering emotional well-being. These trainings empower caregivers with practical knowledge to enhance children’s growth and school readiness, ensuring they receive high-quality care even in informal settings.
Resources & support
Navigating childcare and early childhood education systems can be challenging, especially for immigrant and refugee families. Our Resources & Support services connect families with childcare assistance programs, early childhood development resources, and parenting workshops tailored to their cultural backgrounds. We also provide guidance on child safety, school readiness, and community-based support networks, ensuring caregivers can access the tools they need to raise healthy, thriving children.
cULTURAL COMPETENCY & INCLUSION TRAINING
Understanding cultural diversity is essential for providing inclusive and respectful care. Our Cultural Competency & Inclusion Training helps caregivers, educators, and professionals develop cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with immigrant and refugee families. Participants learn about diverse parenting styles, cultural traditions, and effective cross-cultural communication strategies to create welcoming and affirming spaces for children and their families.
